Roxas! Roxas!

[It's not uncommon for little kids to run in the streets as if their life depended on it. After all, they always get in trouble or tend to play games or do errands once in a while. However, today, Xion is doing none of those, running full haste to fetch her brother from the forgery with no regard to the empty bucket she was supposed to be drawing water from the well from as it hanged from her hand, still damp, her apron damp as well. Seems like she spilled all the water in her haste.]

Character Information

General
Canon Source: Kingdom Hearts
Canon Format: Video game
Character's Name: Kairi
Character's Age: 15

What form will your character's NV take? I think she's technologically literate enough for this.

Abilities

Character's Canon Abilities:

Unlike her two best friends, Kairi is not familiar with combat. Most of her special abilities lie within how her heart is born of pure Light, with absolutely no Darkness in it. Called a Princess of Light within her canon, this grants her special powers that are exclusive to the seven special maidens that share the title. Most notable is that even after losing her heart, instead of turning into a Heartless, Kairi entered a suspended animation state that kept her body untouched while her heart found a safe place in Sora's. Although it won't apply to the Port, alongside the other princesses, she has the ability to unlock the Final Keyhole to Kingdom Hearts. And to an extent, as the other princesses can sense and warn Sora about impending Darkness (like the others, perhaps even hold it back for a while if not completely,) she can probably sense it too. Her pure heart makes her immune to any of its effects, such as safely passing through the Corridors of Darkness without harm.

When Kairi was young, Aqua saved her from Unversed. In her panic, she had held on to the older girl's own Keyblade, and the power was passed on to her unknowingly. Almost eleven years after that, Riku handed her Destiny's Embrace, a Keyblade originally wielded by Aqua formed from the memories of the flowers Kairi herself gave to the Keyblade Master. Kairi had leaped into the fray wielding it without hesitation. Although new to the Keyblade, Kairi seems to at least have basic knowledge in swinging and dodging, given she grew up with two boys. And although she has room for improvement, if her determination and eagerness are anything to go by, if she's given enough time to practice and wield it, she can get better at fighting.

Weapons: Destiny's Embrace.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.

Character History: A Wiki link might be in order.
Point in Canon: Near the end of Kingdom Hearts II, after being locked out of the battle against Xemnas together with King Mickey.

Character Personality:
If you list down almost every positive trait you can think of, you'll end up with Kairi. Optimistic, cheerful, outgoing, friendly-- the list goes on. As someone who embodies pure light, she's a shining example to her friends and to anyone she meets. Starting from early childhood where she wastes no time being friendly with her savior, even befriending people she just met after apparently coming out of their wall, her friendliness knows no bounds. As much as a princess like the other Princesses of the Heart, she values friendship the most and making friends comes to her easily .

Even if she spent most of the first game in a comatose state, Kairi is an active person during those times she's not missing her heart. She's a bit of a tomboy, after all growing up with two boys at her side. She doesn't coddle them but rather guides them on what to do (she has a set task list for Sora and doesn't let him slack off while working at the raft) and has no qualms in supporting the playful banter and competitions between her friends, even if she doesn't realize it's her attention they're competing for. Although her feelings for Sora are questionably stronger, it doesn't mean she completely favors him over Riku. At the end of the day, teasing and bossing around aside, they're the most important people to her and she just wants all three of them to be together again.

She's a fierce determinator when it comes to her friends, and the next time we see her awake, she doesn't hesitate in putting herself in danger for their sake. From trying to go back to Riku even with Donald yapping at her to go already to throwing herself in front of Sora's Heartless to protect him once she recognized him. Even if she's not a fighter, she's not completely helpless. Most of the time she's just as eager to jump into the fray armed with nothing but her fists, and is not the type to sit around and wait for help unless there really is nothing she can do about the situation. If an opportunity presents itself, she takes it with only little hesitation. Though as much as Kairi hates getting left behind, and would rather fight together with her friends, she respects the decisions they make when they have things to do.

Getting separated from them for over a year had mellowed her out and made her more mature. It definitely tested her patience and how willing she was to wait for them both to return home, not to mention that she believed that someday they would return. Her loyalty and faith to both is immeasurable, and she believes in her friends so much. She didn't force Sora to take her to save Riku during the first game because Sora promised he'd bring Riku back, and she believes he would. She doesn't bat an eye at Riku's appearance in the World that Never Was, and is simply glad to see him again. Kairi has the utmost trust in her friends and would never doubt them, although she does worry.

Kairi is also a bit of a romantic. This includes creating a Wayfinder for them to use while they were making a raft, believing in its power to watch people over in their journey. There's also the legend of the Paopu fruit, which is something she didn't voice openly in the game, but nonetheless, her drawing of giving Sora a star in response to his own means she values the legend just as much. And finally sending out the letter in the bottle, which she believed would reach the boy she couldn't remember. Later on this letter eventually reached a stranded Sora and Riku in the Dark Meridian. Her actions show how much she puts faith into things once she believes in them.

Character Plans: A big plot of the Port revolves around the Darkness and monsters, which is interesting since it's similar to the setting in Kingdom Hearts. Apart from being there for her friends, it would be interesting to see Kairi try to cope being out there for the first time exposed to danger instead of being safely back in the islands. She's not one to pick sides, though, unless she sees the whole picture.

Appearance/PB: Her Kingdom Hearts 2 outfit.

[The feed clicks on at first upside down, with a curious face peering down at it.]

Oh, it looks like it's working!

[The feed flips right side up as the girl smiles, looking hopeful.]

Hello. I'm not sure if anyone's listening or if this is working... well, they said this is how it works...but... my name is Kairi. I'm looking for my two friends. One of them has spiky brown hair [She reaches up to tug at her own hair for emphasis.] that sticks up in all directions, and is always smiling! The other one has silver hair which is longer than mine, about this long-- [And she marks past her shoulder where Riku's hair length would be.] who scowls like this.

[And she imitates what would be Riku's frowning expression, laughing a little to herself afterwards.] And yes, both of them are boys.

[Her face softens in the next part.]

If... any of you have seen them, or...

Sora, Riku, if you're here, tell me, alright?

[She pauses as if wondering if there's anything else to say, before nodding her head politely.]

Thank you for listening.

Third Person Sample

Everything hurt.

That was the first thing she became aware of. The second thing was that she was on the ground, and that third was that it was absolutely silent. Wasn't she fighting earlier? That's right. The door closed before she and King Mickey had time to get in. The King told her to follow his lead when the Heartless started flooding in droves, and even with her limited time with her Keyblade, she'd been making good progress... the battle!

Kairi tried sitting up abruptly, crying out when her body protested. Gingerly, she pulled herself up, forcing her limbs to cooperate. This wasn't the time for her to lay around like this. Sora and Riku were fighting at the other side of the door. She needed to do her best too. As her arms finally worked, she found herself inhaling a large amount of dust, and her lungs coughed against it, her shaking arms barely holding her up.

This wasn't the castle. It was... a baseball diamond? This... didn't make the slightest sense at all. Coughing up more dust, she waited for her legs to respond next as she clutched at her head, trying to remember. No, that was all she can remember. But then something must have happened to take her away from there. Did she pass out? What about the King? And Sora, Riku, Donald and Goofy?

The multiple signboards around weren't answering her questions, despite looking as helpful as possible. As her legs regained movement, she finally managed to shakily push herself up, staring with wide eyes at the building above.

For the first time ever since their entire adventure started, Kairi found herself alone. Truly alone. She shivered a little, wrapping her arms around herself. No, she'd been alone before. Alone in that cell in the castle, at least until someone rescued her. Maybe it's about time she proved that she could stand on her own.

Kairi vaguely remembered the feel of the cool metal against her hand earlier when she was fighting. It felt nice to finally be on the same wavelength as the others. She didn't need to stay here and wait to be rescued when she could do something about her situation. She wasn't helpless. Kairi took a deep breath to calm her nerves, a hand over her heart. Waiting isn't good enough.

"Alright... Sora, Riku.... just wait for me. I'll find you."

Character
Name: Terra
Series: Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Timeline: Just before his final boss battle
Canon Resource Links: Wiki link away!

Personality:

It could be said that out of Master Eraqus's apprentices, Terra is the most serious. He's level headed and calm most of the time, usually thinking things through before jumping into the fray (to the point that he over thinks and this somehow misleads him more.) Unlike Ven and Aqua, he's not that outgoing, and he treats people with more respect and formality than the two younger apprentices. Despite his seemingly impassive and serious exterior though, his heart is kind. Too kind, that is; he can be easily trusting of people and this is what usually gets him in trouble. More often than not he trusts the first person he meets, which, unfortunately, are sometimes villains. This is also what led him to be easily be manipulated by Master Xehanort.

After the Master Qualification Exam, Terra questioned his abilities and capabilities after failing it. He has this intense desire to succeed, especially with his lifelong dream of being a Keyblade Master, which was crushed after he failed the exam. With some convincing words and a lot of flattery to his ego, Master Xehanort succeeds in making him think that he is Terra's only ally and the only one who sees him as a Master already. Eventually, this thinking led him to have a fall out with both Ven and Aqua in Radiant Garden, especially with accusing Aqua of spying him when all she did was try to watch over him. He slowly distances himself from his friends. Though he receives a wake up call when he takes out Braig's eye using Darkness. Even as Terra resumes traveling alone and distancing himself from his friends, he realizes that he still cares for them.

Despite the Darkness in his heart, there's a light in it that never goes out. Terra always has kindness in him, and even if he helped to cause some bad things, these were all done accidentally, as he never tried to harm anyone intentionally. He's always been regretful once he realizes what he's done, and he beats himself up over it for a time. And his primary driving force, apart from his dreams, is the deep connection he has to the people he cares about. Terra is extremely loyal to his friends, to the point of being overprotective. Even with Master Xehanort's meddling, the familial love for them never disappears and he would even take up arms against his own Master to try and protect them. He views his Master as his surrogate father figure, visibly being distraught at having a hand to his death. By the time the battle at the Keyblade Graveyard begins, Terra's resolve to protect the people left to him overshadows any doubts he has with Darkness; not to the extent that he's afraid to succumb to it, but that he's overcome this fear and is willing to use it to protect his friends.

The will of his heart is so strong that even after being possessed by Xehanort, his Lingering Will and his memories within the new Xehanort continue to fight for his friends.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

Strengths

- Terra is physically strong. His fighting technique centers around using brute strength, which allows him to wipe out enemies and mobs with as few hits as possible. This gives him the highest stamina out of all the apprentices, and makes him something of a Tank, since he can withstand strong hits (mostly to make up for his poor speed.)

The Keyblade is a versatile item that not only acts as a weapon, it also acts as a mode of transportation for the apprentices. Terra's in particular changes to a motorcycle-like vehicle. They need their armor whenever they travel. The older apprentices also have the capability to change their Keyblades into another weapon. In his case, a cannon. Apart from his magical and physical abilities, he has the power to use dimensional links by making bonds with friends in various worlds, and the use of special abilities called shotlocks. Of course, this will not apply to Route's setting. But nonetheless, Terra's fighting abilities are wide ranged.

- Terra values his friends the most. Even after the Darkness calls out to him, he still manages to keep his love for them. It serves as his strength to the point that he overcomes his fear of darkness, and is even determined to use it to protect his friends. Terra is normally a calm and collected person, but once the safety of his friends are threatened, he might do a fucking acrobatic pirouette off the handle. They're his berserk button, and also the his greatest motivation for trying to set things right.

Weaknesses

- Because of his strength, Terra needs to channel his swings with extreme force to deliver powerful blows. As a result, he is physically the slowest out of all the apprentices. He doesn't have that many Aerial abilities, and this leaves to only limited dodging options.

- Despite of his link with Darkness, Terra is a friendly person. Too friendly, and too easy to trust someone. It could be bad luck on his part for meeting those people first, but the bottom line is that because of his trusting nature, he's been tricked and manipulated by several people he meets in various worlds.

- A great deal of Terra's problems started with him possessing Darkness. He seems to have had it for some time and lacks control of it. Even later on as he travels, this is his biggest weakness as he tries to find a way to control it, and its presence in his heart leads him to people that are drawn to Darkness as well, allowing them to trick him in exchange for information regarding his problem.

- Although his friends are his strength, they are also his weakness. He would do anything for them. If anything should happen to them, it's going to put a lot of emotional strain on him.

-- stop that.

[The feed opens up to a familiar face to Johto; Terra stares down at something that is clearly not the pokegear, a small, puzzled frown on his face. When he notices that the pokegear is doing something though, he places his attention to it. He's managed to read the manual. ]

I'm sorry to interrupt whatever it is you're doing. But if anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. I'm trying to find my way out of this place. The... residents around don't seem to be of much help.

[He pauses long enough to glance down at something again, and grumbles a "So are you." to something. There's a low growl and Terra shift as if he nearly just avoided something, before turning his attention back to the gear.]

My name is Terra and... I have no idea how I got here. But I need to leave as soon as possible. Though, if there's a possibility that any of you have seen a young woman named Aqua, or a teenage boy named Ven, please tel--

[The gear gets dropped as Terra yelps off cam. There's a loud "Pooch!! and the gear gets picked up, and taken for a wild and shaky ride as whoever (or whatever) is carrying it suddenly starts running to the direction of Route 29.]

Hey! Get back here! NERDLETTE!

Third Person Sample:

"Seems like I underestimated you."

Nerdlette peeks up at Terra from under her scruffy fur, turning her head as if berating her own Trainer for even judging her. The oldest apprentice couldn't help but let out a chuckle, sitting down with the new badge in hand. Underestimated, huh? Just like her namesake.

To be honest, it was still weird to him. He had always relied on his strenght and abilities to win battles. Watching from the sidelines and giving out orders to animals was something he never expected. He was used to the feel of the metal in his hand, to the rough blows of Unversed or even the blunt swinging attacks of his fellow apprentices when they landed hits on him in training.

He almost felt... helpless, to say the least. He had heard people treat this as if it was a second chance. According to them, this was his third time here. According to them, this was his third time here. He'd been sent home twice before and he didn't remember it. Lost memories of old friends, even old pokemon partners. Yet this world, it was so peaceful compared to what was waiting for him and his friends at home.

But what did wait for them there? And who's to say he won't get sent home again? The badge felt small, insignificant in the palm of his callused hand. Master Xehanort stabbing himself, a flash of light, and that was it. That was all that happened before he found himself being pushed out a door by a woman claiming to be his mother.

Although most of the kids he met (some familiar faces, some that aren't, and some so identical it's uncanny) had been friendly, they'd admitted that they hadn't heard of him or his friends for years. Meaning something had happened.

He glanced down at the snoring Poochyena near his arm, smiling and leaning back as he looked at the sunset sky's bright red colors. He He knew he shouldn't be thinking. He knew knowing wouldn't change that fate. But.. he still wanted to know. But for now, he can live like this. Free from worrying, from trying to keep each other alive, and just living happily with his friends. Like they used to before he messed everything up. He knows Aqua and Ven both don't blame him, but he still intend to fix everything.

Getting up, Terra dusted himself off and pocketed the badge. The Poochyena followed him soundlessly, and Terra's mouth quirked into a smile when he felt its nose bump against his leg, as if stubbornly pushing him forward.

Forward, then.

Character
Name: King Mickey Mouse
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Timeline: Post KH2, Pre-coded
Canon Resource Links: MOUSE HAS A GIANT WIKI ENTRY

Affiliation: Trainer

Personality: He has a strong sense of good and justice, and won't stand for people using their power to hurt others, especially Keyblades. Mickey is not blinded by the battle between Darkness and Light. Initially, he believed Darkness had to be eliminated, but after encountering and guiding Riku, he now believes that Light and Darkness are interdependent, which is unexpected, given that he is the chosen Keyblade Wielder of the Realm of Darkness. He doesn't discriminate against anyone, and is forgiving to others easily.

Even as a King, Mickey has always been humble and jolly, never leting his status get in the way on how he makes friends with others. He has made a lot of friends in a lot of places, as even people from Radiant Garden knows him. Mickey would do anything for his friends, and would travel to any world, light or Darkness, just to find a way to help them. He goes absolutely berserk if any of them are hurt, particularly those closest to him (when he thought Goofy died in Radiant Garden, he charged in full rage to avenge his friend.)

He feels largely responsible for a lot of things that happened during Birth by Sleep and as a result, is more responsible during the span of Sora's adventure, opting to take the initiative once the stars went out. It could be attributed to Mickey somehow also being somewhat reckless, as what he did when he ran away from training. Mickey feels compelled to set things in the worlds right, to the point that he's compulsive. But all of this is done with good intentions, and either by pure luck or skill, he suceeds more often times than not.

Strengths/Weaknesses: One word to describe him; absolutely epic in every way. Even as the shortest Keyblade wielder around, he can definitely hold on his own, doing impossible flips and doges to fight enemies higher than him. Mickey is largely skilled in combat, and he will wipe the floor with you with his eyes closed. His heart is strong enough that he doesn't need a coat to survive in the realm of Darkness, even if he stayed for a long time in it. And his ability to strategize ahead of time to plan a counter attack against enemies, along with his paladin like abilities, is a plus. His only weakness is that he tends to get reckless for the sake of his friends.

[There's a rustle of a map.]

This world is strange. It changes appearances, huh?

[More rustling as the map is tucked away.]

Ahuh, this device seems handy though. Anyone out there? If there's anyone who knows me out there, give me a heads up and a rally ho! I'll try to meet up with ya as soon as possible. I better get moving though. If I need to figure out what's goin' on, I can't keep dallying around.

Third Person Sample:

"W-wait a minute, ma'am!"

Mickey could only yelp when the unknown woman pushed him out of the door. Crash landing on the ground, he groaned as he rubbed his head, eyes dizzily focusing as a at the scenery around him. He scratched his head, rubbing sorely at the ears at the side of his face.

... wait a...

... his.

... ears?

"Whoaw!" the King almost jumped a full few feet as he felt his head, only feeling hair instead of fur. His ears were gone. How did this... his eyes widened as he turned around, suddenly realizing he's a few good feet taller than usual, and that his tail was gone. This was. Bizarre. He knew some worlds changes appearances, but he doesn't remember making a trip to another world. Experimentally, he did a flip on his feet, satisfied when he found it was still as easy to do as before. This human body didn't mess with his abilities, at least. Or it would be harder to fight the Darkness. Man, if only the others could see--

Wait, the castle!

Mickey shot up and only saw dark gray skies as he glanced up. No cheerful music, no blue sky, no friends...

... no Minnie.

"Aw, just when I was finally home." he mumbled, eyes drooping down. But he quickly shook his head, trying to ebb away home sickness. He was away from home for two years. He would just hav eto come home again! Minnie could wait longer. He'll just hav eto trust Donald and Goofy to keep her safe. Whatever this adventure was that called him to this world, it was more important. He wasn't one to question much. He just needs to do what it is to be done. Opening his palm, he tried to call his Keyblade.

Only for it not to come.

Mickey stared at his empty hand, thinking. No powers either. This was a pickle. How did he get here? But he could probably figure out something a long the way. Right now, what he needed was information. He grabbed the bag that was shoved unceremoniously with him, picking through it. Maybe there was something here? That woman was unknown to him, and it looked like the house had shut itself out before he could ask questions. A device. And a red ball.

After playing with the ball for a little while, he figured it was some sort of toy, or useless. Chuckling a little, he started tossing it up and down, in an effort to cheer himself up. To his surprise, it distracted him for a good minute before he lost his concentration, and it toppled to the ground. There's a flash of red light, and Mickey jumped back with a yelp, crashing to the ground.

As the creature materialized in his eyes, the device next to him whirred to life.

Character
Name: Naminé
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Timeline: Post KH2
Canon Resource Links: HAVE A WIKI ARTICLE

Affiliation: Breeder

Personality: Being born in an empty castle without memories and any personality to begin with, Naminé was easily influenced to follow the orders of the Organization who found her, who treated her as a mere tool. As a result, she's become someone who can be easily pushed around. The Organization used fear to control her, and it made her soft spoken, weak and defenseless. Being a special Nobody though, she can feel. And because of this, not only was she able to feel the loneliness of being trapped and friendless (which the Organization used to prod her to manipulate Sora's memories,) but also to feel guilt over what she actually did.

Later on in Chain of Memories, that same guilt made her rethink her decision, and once Axel gave her an opportunity, she immediately started to set things right, even if she was in danger. Her decision to correct her wrong doings affected her later on in KHII, where up to the point that she's become reckless. During this time, she also started to disregard her own safety in favor of trying to help Roxas, even with DiZ's intention of disposing of her. And she even came to save Kairi at the end of the game, even when she started fading from the contact with her Other.

Apart from feeling herself, she seems to be able to pinpoint what exactly others are feeling as well, and probably as an artist, has a keen eye to little details like that, and is constantly apologizing are trying to be comforting to those who need it.

Strengths/Weaknesses: For a newly existed Nobody, Naminé seems to know a lot of things, even more than some of the people around her. She uses the knowledge she has to try and correct what she thinks is wrong, and help those who are confused to what's going on, as seen as to how she helped Riku in Castle oblivion by disguising as Kairi, or how she explained things to Xion. Her only real talent, however, is her drawing skills and her memory manipulation abilities, the latter something she is not so proud of because she can't find a good use for it. It's also her weakness, since this is what the Organization and DiZ uses her for.

Third Person Sample:

Confusion was an understatement.

Naminé had no idea what was going on, and could only stammer inaudibly as the unknown woman all pushed her out of the door. The sunlight hit her eyes as the door slammed behind her, and she fumbled with the bag of unknown things she had, her brain still not quite processing what exactly is going on.

It took her a few seconds to realize though that she wasn't looking down at a pink dress and rubber shoes. No, those were her blue sandals. And her white dress. She could feel the heat of the sun on her skin, and Kairi's voice was nowhere. Half afraid, her fingers reached up to tug a lock of hair into her view (she could move on her own.)

It was blonde.

If only there was a feeling in the world even more intense than confusion. What... what happened to Kairi? Her hands touched her own skin shakily, as if unable to believe that she was here, standing, real, existing, not in someone else's body.

She wanted to exist as herself, yes, but... if something happened to Kairi, she would never be able to live (exist?) with it. She was just a shadow, after all. Her hand went to her chest, still feeling no heartbeat. So.. what happened?

Hoping someone around would provide her with answers, she hesitantly looked around for any familiar faces. Like auburn hair, a sign of a crown necklace, aquamarine eyes... or even a sign of that familiar checkered wristband.

And here she thought she wouldn't finally be alone.

"Kairi?" she tentatively called, looking around. When no answer came to her, she sighed, her grip on her bag loosening a little. Half a second later, she screamed when she felt something move in the bag. The startled Nobody dropped it, and heard something crack when it hit the ground. ... oh no.

Morbidly curious, she dropped to her knees after it and opened it, staring at the white object that was sitting on top of the other contents. Naminé slowly fished out what looked like a white egg with several colored spots on it, and to her shock, realized that it was cracked at the top. Panic slowly settled in. Was it her fault that it was cracked? Why did it seem like everything is her fault?

"O-oh..." she watched in horror as the crack widened, bringing it close to her. What will she do...? She hasn't seen many animals, just the doves, cats and dogs in Twilight Town, and Kairi's memories of the animals in Destiny Islands. Naminé knew enough that eggs have baby animals in them. What if she had killed this one?!

The top shell fell off and if she had the heart to, she would have panicked more. To add to her horror, more cracks appeared at the sides, and more shell fell out.

It didn't ocur to her that it was hatching until she realized that the top part had tiny little eyes blinking up at her.

Naminé stared back as it looked blearily up at her, a creature still in the egg shell. After a while, two arm-like appendages poked out from the shell, and it made a sound that was possibly the cutest thing she had ever heard. It wagged it's arms toward her as two feet popped out from below. It was oddly cute in a way. And it was alive. She felt relieved, and curious at the same time.

For once, it wasn't her fault.

A small smile crept into her face as she stared at the odd creature that wagged it's arms at her like a child.
